2024 Maritime Silk Road International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education and Application-The 4th International Conference on New Western Land-Sea Corridor Engineering Disaster Prevention and Mitigation & Structure Safety

On December 13-14, the 2024 Maritime Silk Road International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education and Application - The 4th International Conference on New Western Land-Sea Corridor Engineering Disaster Prevention and Mitigation & Structure Safety was held at Guangxi University, organized by the school of Civil Engineering And Architecture with guidance from National Center for Schooling Development Program and Education Department of Gaungxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Vice President Prof. Xiao Jianzhuang attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

 

Xiao Jianzhang emphasized that the International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education and Application is an important platform for fully implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s Belt and Road Initiative and pragmatically promoting collaboration in industry, education, and application among universities, research institutions, and enterprises in Belt and Road countries and regions. As a leading university in Guangxi, GXU has always placed great importance on international cooperation on industry, education and application, actively adapting to the demands of the times, continuously expanding educational exchanges and cooperation with countries along the Maritime Silk Road through the New Western Land-Sea Corridor, and promoting deep integration of international industry, education, and application. Xiao Jianzhuang hoped that experts and scholars would speak freely about the major frontier scientific problems and technical bottlenecks faced in engineering construction, exchange academic ideas and research achievements generously, serving the New Western Land-Sea Corridor and promoting Guangxis development.

Twenty-one experts and scholars from China and abroad presented academic reports on the theme of Disaster Prevention, Mitigation, and Structure Safety of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor Project, covering cutting-edge topics such as Life-cycle safety of high performance structures Intelligent construction, operation and maintenance of Long-span arch bridges Durability of materials and structures for offshore and ocean engineering and Intelligent construction,safety operation and maintenance of canal.

The conference was conducted in a hybrid format, combining online and offline participation, attracting nearly 200 experts, scholars, and representatives of faculty and students from well-known universities and research institutions in countries such as Pakistan, Singapore, Brunei, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Portugal, Belgium, as well as renowned domestic institutions including Tongji University, Hunan University, Shanghai University, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Guangxi University, Changsha University of Science and Technology, Guilin University of Technology, and Eastern Institution For Advanced Study.
